THOR: RAGNAROK MOVIE REVIEW
Thor: Ragnarok was
undoubtedly the most loved movie from the Thor movie line-up. Along with
jaw-dropping action sequences, the most important feature of the movie that
contributed to its popularity among Marvel fanatics was its comedy. In previous
Thor films, Thor Odinson (Chris Hemsworth) was portrayed as a serious character
that was fighting to become worthy of ruling Asgard. In this movie, however,
there is a whole different type of plot and it portrays a more upbeat version
of Marvel films.
The plot of the
movie revolves around Hella (Cate Blanchett), The God of Death and Thor &
Loki’s sister, return and takes control over Asgard. Thor & Loki (Tom
Hiddleston) are accidently transported to an unknown planet called Sakaar where
Thor meets The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and a retired Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson). The
planet is ruled by The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldbum) who takes joy in organizing
tournaments where competitors, who are the Grandmaster’s prisoners, fight till
the death. After spending some time on this planet, Thor manages to steal one
of Grandmaster’s many spaceships and travel to Asgard, with Hulk and Valkyrie
by his side. There they engage in battle with Hela and her army of the dead.
When Thor was
introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2011’s movie Thor, no one
would’ve though that this character would bring a humorous touch to the big
screen. However, Chris Hemsworth managed to excellently portray a witty,
comedic and even clumsy (at times) God of Thunder and Marvel fanatics adore the
character even more than before. And, of course, it is impossible to not praise
Tom Hiddleston’s depiction of Loki, the God of Mischief, and Thor’s
half-brother. Tom fits into this role like a tailor-made glove. There were
brilliant performances all round when it comes to this movie, but these two
Gods take the cake.
Thor: Ragnarok was no doubt a brilliant film on its own, containing all the features of a classic Marvel movie that makes viewers want to watch over and over again. But in 2022, most of the hype is circulating around the Thor movie that is yet to be released. Thor: Love and Thunder is the fourth Thor movie and the one that appears to have caught the most attention from fans. It is set to release on July 7th, and the two trailers for this film have gotten everyone super excited. It is set to be the best and most awaited Thor film in the MCU.
